In order to push for a greener environment, The South Senate, in coordination with the Environmental Club, administration, and custodial staff, passed Phase 1 of a school-wide recycling policy, implemented on October 16.
“I think the most important issue is foreign policy. Obama is taking the correct approach: dealing directly with the opposition. McCain sides with George W. Bush on the issue, pursuing a policy that has by no means been successful.

Girls cross country finishes season with Dual County League title

With a very successful start, the Newton South girls' cross country team is raising high expectations for the season. Their DCL record is 5-1, only losing by two points to rival Lincoln-Sudbury, a loss captains see as an opportunity for improvement.

As I flipped through the pages of a recent Wonder Woman comic book, I admired the drawn character but at the same time wondered, Can you really look up to an invented person on a piece of paper? It made me wonder who my leaders are, my heroes, the heroes of our generation? The people we look up to are much different than those our parents did'€they've changed more than ever.
Ever shot a moose? Live in a small town? Have big guns and strong religion? Friends with a guy named Joe Six-pack? What about Joe the Plumber?

With the presidential election just around the corner, talk of Sarah Palin's “shout out and Barack Obama's “call for change are many people's minds.
School and grades have always been the main focus in my traditional, Korean household. With the Dow Jones plummeting every other day and the presidential election drawing closer, however, Senators Barack Obama and John McCain have dominated daily dinner discussions with my parents.
A community-wide open forum will take place at the Newton South Auditorium on November 5 in response to the three Columbus weekend car accidents involving South students driving under the influence.

With the start of the new school year, South's clubs and programs have resumed their busy schedules, and many students are getting involved. Two programs offered at South, One to One and Best Buddies, were effective and productive last year and will continue their efforts throughout this school year. Both programs establish special relationships that help participants grow and create a lasting impact for those involved.
