Cien Sonetos de Amor

Pablo Neruda’s Cien Sonetos de Amor is a collection of love sonnets written in Spanish. Translated into English by Stephen Tapscott, it contains poems inboth languages.

Neruda’s collection is dedicated to his wife, and therefore one can assume that these love sonnets are primarily directed at her.

The book is separated into four different sections to represent four different times of day: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Each poem from these sections is sweet, deep, and interesting to read
I love this book because it not only contains love sonnets for individual people, but also for the collective audience. I highly recommend this book to everyone, but especially to those studying Spanish and swayed by the lyricism of romantic poetry.
