As Jasmine Sola’s rule over teen fashion comes to a close, the mothers and daughters of Newton will scurry to their closest store to buy the remains of a blowout sale.

According to The Boston Herald, Jasmine Sola’s parent company, New York & Co., decided to shut down the chain of stores due to little progress in sales and a number of allegations of sexual misconduct by the president, Luciano Manganella.

Recently, in a final attempt to raise profits, Jasmine Sola created the “JasClub,” in which members who have purchased over $250 in Jasmine Sola merchandise receive special limited offers including 5 percent off everything at the store for life.

Now that stores are preparing to close, all 23 stores are having an “all out” sale, in which all clothing is now 20 to 40 percent off. Prices are intended to drop even further as its discontinuation date approaches

Located in Chestnut Hill Mall and Newton Centre, Jasmine Sola has always been a shopping must for Newton’s female residents. South students are now making a run to make their final shopping spree at the clothing store.

“I know that everything is going to get cheaper in time,” senior Sarah Kalowski said, “but if I wait, I know everything is going to be gone.”

So far, there have been no announcements to what stores will replace the Jasmine Solas in Newton and Chestnut Hill.

All Jasmine Solas are expected to close by the end of the year.
