South alum gets Nobel

By David HanNewton South alumnus Roger B. Myerson shares the 2007 Nobel Prize in
economics with Leonid Hurwicz and Eric S. Maskin for their mechanism
design theory, which defines the science of constructing situations
into the desired outcome.
Mechanism design theory is commonly exercised in markets and auctions
in the world.
A 1969 South graduate, Myerson attended Harvard University where he
pursued his education in economical sciences.
Myerson currently resides in Newton.
