Results arrive for science MCAS

By David Han22 percent of students throughout Massachusetts failed the 2006
Science & Physics MCAS exam.
Newton South is ahead of the statewide average with less than three
percent of the students receiving a failing grade.
“I think that, from what I remember, the test was not too incredibly
difficult. I am glad to know that I am probably not part of that 22
percent,” sophomore Ben Chelmow said.
Some students credited their teachers for their performance exceeding
the state’s.
“I think my science teacher did a good job preparing us for the MCAS,”
sophomore Naomi Frankston said.
“The teachers did a great job teaching the materials for the MCAS,”
sophomore Ted Tsien said.
