North breaks ground

Newton North began construction on its new building over the summer. The $151 million building will be the most expensive new high school in Massachusetts and will replace the current building. The Board of Aldermen approved the project, and then confirmed their approval after a ballot initive led by opponents forced a revote. Construction is expected to be completed in 2009.
